My punctured heart is panting, straining itself to keep me running. The setting sunset’s rays shine across my face from the horizon, my body cut through the shadows as I run as fast I can. Behind me, I cannot hear footsteps. A faint wave of relief passes me while I clutch my bleeding shoulder.
I can feel the bullet swimming deeper into my wound, my face grimaces with endless pain. My breathing is staggering as my legs scream to stop running. I ignore my inner self and continue to run for whatever life I had remaining.

All was still and calm as Naomi quietly slid her slim body against a brick wall. Her quick eyes scanned the vacant premises as she tried to scope out an outline of a figure. Ryuzaki sat in his trademark position as I sat across from him in a local Café. Of course people looked at him (then at me) as they walked by our dainty table in the middle of the restaurant since his knees were pushing against his chest and his back was curved. Strands of Ryuzaki’s thick black hair lay just above his large, daunting black eyes. All of his attention was focused onto the tower of sugar cubes.
